According to R. Cook, this model represents the earliest drum to be associated with the Slingerland drum company. I tried to snipe this one, but was ultimately out bid in the final moments. Did anyone here get it?
The earliest Slingerland drum... Last viewed: 3 hours ago
I assumed that this drum would be of interest to this forum, and was hoping to spark a conversation among those of you who may be familiar with this model. I would be interested in hearing from those who have handled or possess such a drum, as I have not been able to unearth much info.
I found one in Muskegon,Mi around 20-25 years ago...
Seems like it was missing a few parts...maybe not...it was so long ago!
Anyway, didn't buy it..looked at it/held it for a few minutes though....
It was a Eugene Geisler (sp?) drum
RM I don't know a thing about them except that's one cool looking snare! I saw that on EB and thought it would go for much more. Not a bad price I think for such a early example. I'll defer to the experts though I can only guess. :) Was the gold color original was had it been painted at some point?
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Apparently the best way to kill a thread around here is to put the word "Slingerland" in the title. LoLoLoLo
I also saw the EBay sale. Know nothing of this type of drum so had nothing to contribute.
Any chance you are the same RocketMan that posts on the Ford Gt site?

The spewed Scotch has been cleaned from monitor and keyboard. Thanks for a much needed laugh!!

I have a drum similar to this but in better condition. Any idea of its age? What might the body material be made of? Any restoration hints?
Very cool, but as you can see from this thread, not much knowledge to be shared regarding it's construction. As for it's age, the latter part of the 1920s.
it kinda has that banjo look to it
