Chatherine Bach is a good reason to do anything. And who says good things don't come from Queens N.Y.Steve B

You know Ringo was swinging some serious...ugh, "charm" to get her attention away from that "Meat Mountain" Lyle Alzado!...of course by then, Lyle probably had that shriveled steroid balls thing going on!Eye Ball

I guess thats the point. If I have the cash, and I want that particular set of drums, then screw the market value...I am going to buy them. What did Carnage say"if you have to ask how much they are..then you can't afford them"

I guess that seems unfair to a lot of buyers like me but money talks and everything else walks.Sure if I made my living flipping drum gear that would burn my butt.Like sellers throwing out "Ringo color"or Ludwig drums...just like Ringo played.Meanwhile...they are blue sparkle rewraps.Or LM 402's ....BONHAM.And the one that really gets me......RARE

I think at times its just a combination greed and a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. The market at times seems like a buyers market, and I think Buyers, set market value accurately for the most part, but there is always that occasional lottery winner who says..I want it..and I want it now...screw the cost. And that..is what establishes the new paradigm for resale values.I could be wrong, but thats how I see the used drum gear market these days.

I think the contest would be between one of the original Beatle Kits (for instance, the first Ed Sullivan Show set) versus Bonham's Amber Vistalites used on Song Remains the Same. I think Ringo's set would sell for more, the big money would come out and play for that one. The Bonham set would definitely also sell for big bucks, though. I think we're talking rockstar guitar pricing on this, like Eric Clapton's Blackie strat:

Anyway I think Ringo's set would approach and maybe even pass that price.

+1 on that.Ringos drums and sound, style of play and matched grip set the standard for early 60's rock drummers. Not to mention Ludwig drums.I imagine Premier and for that matter, every drum maker at the time were kicking themselves.....but like they say.."who knew"

Those drums, especially the the Dowbeat Ed Sullivan set and of course the Classic Shea Stadium set, would no doubt be in the 7 figure range..even without "that" jazzfest which is on almost every Beatles recording. That and his gold plated supersensitive have to be the holy grail of snare drums.

Albert Bouchard is currently trying to sell his old BOC studio kit on flea bay for $40,000! That said, it was used on all the BOC studio albums he played on. 'That' cowbell included! Oddly, he's throwing in Neil Peart's old Hi-hat stand!

I love Albert, but I don't think it'll go at that price. That said, if I had just won the lottery, I'd certainly snap it up!

I could see a verified Steven Adler, Appetitie for Destruction, kit going through the roof baby!! The album still has a wide fan base and is already like 17 or 18 times platinum, and counting!!!Cool1
