[Attachment: 57740]these are one of the sets of sticks John sent me a while back. they are suppose to help with your grip and they have worked very well for me. i have been using them quite a bit, so much that i believe i have whitled them down to almost no head on them [Attachment: 57741] so....i believe it is time i retire these sticks b4 there is nothing left of them to have as a keepsake. also want to thank John for his kindness, thanks John. don't remember the name of these sticks but would reccommend them to anyone having trouble holding on to your sticks. as with everything, results may very with each individual lol.

took a look at GC and can pick up a new pair for just under 20 bucks so got a new set coming. i got a pair of nylon tips this time, wanting to see how they sounded. i got other sticks that will hold me over til they get here. ok so anyway thanks for listening, and thanks John.

Happy drumming people!

ps, the new ones i ordered are not nylon tips like i thought they were, darn. sorry bout the false statement.

robyn - It was my pleasure. You're one of my favorite people here at VDF. You're lovable and a genuine character. Glad to help any way I can. You just keep in their wailin' away on your drums for the mice and gophers out in the big field. An audience is an audience!

'Stay wiggly, robyn!' lol

John

PS - robyn, the sticks are called; 'Hornets' that's the name of the company. Look them up online/Google.

Too many great drums to list here!

Say, what's that cute little WMP or Silver Sparkle number sitting on the cabinet in the rear of that photo? Looks interesting.

thanks purdie, you're alright in my book too. the gophers and mice are a pretty good audience but the best are the cows and chickens, yep they even get out there and dance around the pasture. one day ole Dixie Chick (our red chicken) sprung a hip doing the boot scoot while i was wailing away, poor girl laid lopsided eggs for a week after that.

actually it is a MIJ snare, don't really know much bout it, as far as what brand it is. there is no badge or any markings other then japan stamped on the throw off. i'm thinking it is a sixties model but not sure. my aunt jamie had it with the camcos she gave me. i have used it and really like the sound of it. i did have to change the throw off on it as the original is broke, i did keep it tho. i used that snare with the black 90s rockers i had that belonged to my nephew. pretty awesome snare if ya ask me. i got some photos of it some where, i think they are on my bf laptop if interested in seeing them, or i could take more.

Hey Robyn.

I have been playing Nylon tips for, well, let's just say a LONG time....

I really like them because of the consistency- they are always bright on the ride and the Nylon tips never get mushy or out of round on you.

It DOES change the sound of the ride for sure, so you may not like it for this reason, but I have always liked the consistency over time.

Have fun out there!

Disagree all you want. I've been a forum member with John for a few years,on multiple drum forums, and the guy ALWAYS gives freely of his knowledge and gives away various parts and misc. gear....without even asking for ANY form of payment.

Clearly you base your opinion on a single thread, without any other evidence or information.

I prefer to judge slowly.Employing Occams Razor based on a single event, where guilt or innocence is a matter of opinion, isn't always wise.
