Think I'm becoming a vintage pedal junkie! Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Like the title says....think my collecting of vintage Ludwig pedals has become a habit! LOL!

I'm up to 6 now......one speed king, one ghost, two Ludwig universal speedmasters, and now just got my second Ludwig Junior pedal! This one was a huge score! NOS in the original box still! And....for a really good price!

Pics below, let me know what you guys think....:p

Love it! That's a great score, man! I didn't ever mean to collect pedals, but i, too, have a few that have just come along with the deals.

Our beloved webmaster has an INCREDIBLE pedal collection. He's like the Mike Curotto of pedal collectors!

new in the box? what a vintage guy's dream!

wow, i'm used to seeing them all worn and tattered. it's interesting to see one how it was when it was born.

seeing it like that just shows what true works of art they were making back then!

I have another that I got a couple of months ago, not quite as nice as this one. Its been used, but plays very nicely. Just as fast as any new Iron Cobra or DW9000, or even a DW 5000......I think the Universal speedmasters I own are slightly faster, but there's something to these Juniors.....this one will stay new in the box! :)

After inspecting at close range the last generation Junior pedal like this one I just got, I'm really suprised that it didn't sell as well as the speed king. Its lighter, slightly more compact, and just as smooth and fast. The footboard is an engineering marvel all on its own. The footboard is actually ergonomically shaped to fit a normal shoe of the day. The speedking and speedmaster pedals footboards are basically flat. No ergonomics at all! The Junior's footboard is curved for the ball of the foot and has a step in it where the heel of a shoe would rest, and actually acts as a stop to keep the shoe from creeping up the footboard while playing! The pedal itself uses nylon bushing for the cross shaft rather than ball bearings, but so did the Ghost pedal. Very smooth and still fast. Again, I'm amazed it didn't sell as well as the speed king.
