Looking at that ad again has made me sick again!

I think most of the stuff has already been sold on eBay, he's not good about removing local CL ads when his parts sell on eBay...

Ok so strippers apart. Who's buying all the stripped parts? How did that market come about?

There can't be that many people in the market for this stuff. Most of us drummers just want a drum kit!

I was tempted to ask him to re assemble the kick drum and I'd buy it!

I think he strips bass drums to make them lighter for shipping.

I think he also checks VDF for information.

The best part is I don't think he can even play drums, he's more of a cheesey used car salesman/guitar player that has hooked into flipping drum gear as guitar flipping is probably a lot harder and expensive.

There are countless guitar shows all around the country where people like this guy set up tables to sell the stripped parts. There aren't as many guitar shows as gun shows. But, some of these people apparently make a living by traveling around the country many weeks of the year to set up their booths at the weekend guitar shows.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I'd rather call to this kind of people as "rippers"...

I prefer to appoint "strippers" to big boops ladies!!Jump For JoyJump For Joy

Yes, but then we buy that drum kit and it's got a couple broken lugs, or missing some bass drum tension rods....oh and btw I'd like those parts to be in pretty nice shape and not off a road warrior kit...:)

I think it's a bit of a tricky issue - I guess the question would be, if there were no strippers, would there be enough parts to refurbish some of the awesome kits we see brought back to life here? Would kits with trashed shells be a rich enough source?

Personally I hate to see a fine kit stripped for parts sales. OTOH if the parts sell, then they are going onto some other nice kits....I dunno what to think in the end...
