If it wasn't for the photos of the drum's interior I would have assumed it was stuffed with money!

Why ? Make an offer?
Yea, it is great.
The person was probably here a few weeks ago asking about this snare and what it's value was just so he/she can make a killing off some poor sucker. Any takers?
Just for GP's, does anyone here have an Appraisers Licence or have certification in Estimating and Appraising (antiques, musical instruments)? Home Insurance Estimates?
Car and Boat? Real Estate?
Making a "guess" or giving an "opinion" based on whatever experience one may have playing drums doesn't qualify anyone as trained or licenced in offering professional financial advice.
"Why are these old drums so expensive?" Ask the bonehead from the drum forum who said it was worth that much (when it really wasn't).
My 2 cents.
"Slingerland made very few sets in BDP" he said.....
It was their second most common color, wasn't it?!
Is his last name Massengill?
Dead dogs like rusty fire hydrants!!!
Yea, it is great.
Thats what I was wondering because there seem to be all kinda numbers thrown out all over the place on these forums then over on ebay people are usually asking much more than what it is said to be worth here. I would love to know if anyone is a professional appraiser here. I am not trying to get all the guys mad at me here but you must know that numbers are all over the place here. I am not doggin on anybody about their skills in valuing things either. If they are right cool, but it would be nice to know if it was indeed coming from a professional.
Oh thats a very nice drum...worth at least 3x that price HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Thats a bargain lol

Yes i do in antiques, musical intruments and vintage cars.I went to school years ago i came from a back-ground of appraisers my Mom and Dad were both. With 50 years in the antiques selling/buying/ replacement insurance/ete..They owned one of the biggest Antiques Auctions on the west coast...You don't have the right to call any forum members "Boneheads"..Do you? Mikey
I took a look through the seller's prior sold auctions. Lots and lots Ludwig butt plates and a few snares. Those few snares ranged in price - nothing sold anywhere close to a grand.
If an offer for less is accepted, Does the original BIN price disappear?
Not sure of that.
Buyer: "I got it for half of what he was asking"
Seller: "Buy It Now priced at double worked again"
Something to consider - if it works.

I wasn't calling anyone here a bonehead.
I used the word "forum" covering ALL forums on the web.
Bonehead was said to me when I asked an Ebay Seller about pricing. That was her response, where she got her prices from I have no clue.
So if the term bonehead offended you Mikey, I do apologize.
Ok, let me ask you Mikey, that Slingy snare for $1,000 on Ebay do you feel, with your background that the $1,000 is a fair and accurate price in this market, such as it is?
