This Kills Me.... Last viewed: 18 hours ago

I must confess, I have purchased from her (messages were from a woman). A little over a month ago (before I joined VDF), I was looking for COB sticksavers for my 13" tom. I wanted to get some in as good a condition as the rest of my hardware and she had 2 in real good shape, but not mint. I watched them on feeBay for a while and couldn't find any others in good condition. I bit the bullet and paid $49 each for them. She was kind enough to discount shipping on the second one by 50%, this brought my shipping total down from an astronomical $33.90 to a whopping $25.43! (I just shipped 2 spare 14 inchers to NC yesterday for $12 via USPS). She ships from Ft. Myers, FL and I live on the MS coast, so how could it cost that much!? Soap Box

But, I guess that's the price you have to pay sometimes to get what you want. As they say, it's worth as much as someone's willing to pay for it. I was willing to pay that much to get period correct parts in good condition for my new old kit. I more than likely won't be buying anything else from her though, now that I've got a lot of new friends that are willing to help. Thank you all for the shared knowledge and a BIG thanks to those of you who have offered assistance in obtaining parts and other issues.

I have never done any business with this person but have watched them for years ... now the only thing I can say is that when we the vintage buyers want to pay what the drum is worth (in pieces) then these scumbags will stop stripping drums but as long as they can make more by stripping then it will continue... case in point I had a cleveland Jasper bass drum rogers shell it had been rewrapped and drilled for beavertails it was just a good players drum and i mean a good one I could not get 100.00 for it on sleazebay so i took off all the mounts and lugs and sold everything but the badge which is still on it and got over 235.00 for the parts..... go figure

I was thinking the same thing, which is why I am ashamed to have supported her drum-stripping, or should I say drum-r@p!ng, business. Now that I know that's what she does, I won't be doing any more business with her. The thought crossed my mind that I could have bought an orphan with COB sticksavers and resell what I didn't need, but I didn't want to do that unless I could find a drum with a bad shell and only worth its parts. But, anything is salvageable in the right hands.

Until folks take up machining or casting replica parts as replacements, the pillaging will continue.

I wonder if Cherri ever bought from p00der?

look i dont know theses people and dont care if i ever do but i have to say this about stripping out a drum i have over 450 $ in vested in a restoration of my first run acrolite not including labor i have it listed for 600 here no bites its listed on febay for big money or best offer if this drum cant at least bring me what i have in it what am i supposed to do if i need to sell items to pay my bills so the next thing i must consider is to strip it and sell it separate it seem to me and others maybe there is no choice im all for keeping drums together but i bought this one in pieces. and it took a year to find all the parts whats a guy supposed to do in my situation im self employed when work drys up i have to sell my drums and believe u me i hate to do that !

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies

Super 400 small round knob

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Sorry to hear of your financial troubles, these days it's getting harder day by day.

Sinking that kind of money into drums or any musical instruments for investment purposes is not a good idea. Not every drum is a gem.

Acrolites are not rare, I picked one up last month for $65 and gave it away as a present.

This is the kind of SALE that I find simply amazing. Why on earth would anyone buy this for the price.

It's not just an expired listing. There's feedback on this transaction.

I'd love to block LeeCountyMusic listings from my Ebay searches but to date I've not discovered how.

Instructions + ALL of Pooder's aliases would be much appreciated.

Thanks
