I live about an hour from where this ad originated and saw the post after it had been up only 45 minutes. Calling the number, you get a prerecorded message offering to sell the phone number, along with a cell phone and assistance transfering it to your name. I spent some time trying to figure out if the phone number was even legit. My search revealed a home based business, two names, the street address and an email address. I've done everything except drive up and knock on the door. If the post was real and someone beat me to it, well then I'm just gonna go cry in the corner.

Jim - maybe you should take the time to go knock on the door. It may be worth your while. If not, you would have at least satisfied your curiosity....and ours.
Too good to be true.
Be careful on this one.

I've got a funny feeling you won't be shedding any tears soon over this one, Jim.
Heres a nice deal that someone picked up recently-
Boy! wish people in these parts who knew how to post adds on CL were oblivious to doing a simple ebay search.
O well - Chris
I wonder if dead bodies are piling up at the funny guy posting the Detroit listing. I don't get what the point of that if it's fake.
