just got the scoop it was purchased 77/78 and it is stainless octa so the research so far has that there were only 4 of theses made in the 70's at least from what i read at another site so as that goes how rare does that make this kit and i guess concert drums are even making a comeback the snare comes with it also cant wait to get them....

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies

Just so you know I bought my Stainless Big Beat kit new in 78' so that time line is correct. Awesome score by the way. I'm sure you know what those 26"s are worth. I'll bet that was one expensive kit in 77/78'.

Sounds like you scored big! Cant wait to see pictures. A friend of mine had an octoplus kit in the 70s and it was the coolest thing ever. Way to go!

looks like im leaving tue to go get them and the wife and my daughter are going, road trip and she did not even yell about the drums or having to ride in my van somethings up,

maybe she sees the light i wonder if this disease is contagious!

I don't know if it's that contagious. My wife complimented my kit when I finished touching it up, but she wasn't too fond of me spending the money on the kit and then parts. ;)

i can understand the sentiment but i figure id try the tactful way instead of the, im going out of town to by drums approach and it worked non confrontational but im sure there be the piper to pay down the road... or maybe shes just a good ol gal any way cant be prouder ....

My wife likes road trip adventures to places we have never been so she is good with a trip to get drums. She is starting to appreciate them now. She wants me to give her 500.00 so she can prove to me that she knows enough to make a smart purchase. What do you think, worth the gamble?
