It's a good score, well done. But that's a healthy chunk taken out of the bearing edge on the BD in the last pic! Are you going to repair?

Honestly, I haven't decided what to do yet. That is a big chunk of missing wood, but certainly repairable. I am more concerned about extra holes in every drum except the two floor toms. I could easily recoup all my money selling just the 16x16 floor tom. I'm gonna let them sit for a while.

I was very fortunate to see these drums listed for sale on Facebook. In case anyone from this forum was also part of the FB discussion, please know: The seller's primary motivation was to clear out two large buildings that he is selling to the city. Both are to be torn down to create much-needed parking space in a small Canadian town about 6 hours from my home. He was more interested in a quick, hassle-free transaction than fetching top dollar. I was one of the early responders. It helped that I have a passport and had time to quickly get them out of the building. The seller had no interest in shipping or dealing with customs, duties, boxing, etc. He has a very large task ahead of him to clear out these two buildings, both two stories tall, one with fire damage. I drove over 5 hours late last night, got a hotel room, then drove another hour this morning across the border into Canada. The drive home was a bit over 6 hours today. The asking price was $200, so I can certainly understand why some potential buyers were upset that the seller didn't deal with them. He had over 50 responses in one day from as far away as Texas! I paid more than the asking price and also traded a vintage Zildjian crash-ride. Here's what I got: ... two 20 X 14 bass drums, both with extra holes and one without wrap. ... 13 X 9 tom with extra holes, drilled for a Rogers mount... 12 X 8 tom shell also drilled for a Rogers mount, no wrap... 16 X 16 floor tom with wrap, lifting... 14 X 14 floor tom with no wrapCondition: poormissing one bass drum badge. The drums were nested together for many years. The interiors are a mess. Some of the bearing edges are chewed up. Some of the chrome is flaking with deep pitting. Wrap is lifting on the 3 drums and missing on 3 others. In case anyone is wondering, nothing is for sale.

Please tell me that Canadian town was midwestern Canada, and not eastern Canada. If that's the case, i'm reopening my facebook account.. ;)

Nothing? Not even those superfluous Rogers collets? CryBaby

But seriously, congratulations on a nice acquisition. You certainly put enough effort and driving time into it. Keep us posted on restoration when you begin.
