From what I read here, $5K WOULD be warranted. With that, profit could be made in both cash and gear. Think about it. (as long as these numbers are accurate 80 and 50).....and that is not even getting into the cymbals (one MUST have some of those with all these drums). Then there is the hardware......see if he will jump at that and if he does - great deal despite the lack of numerous American kits. You only need 3 or 4 good American (kit) flips to make your money back.

I, as an MIJ nut, would LOVE to grab those for $5K. Considering the potential in the snares - something closer to $10K could be justified.

This is definitely a deal I would thoroughly investigate.

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Iam thinking the same thing as John on this.I would go and look.Maybe Jaghog did not see all the drum's,maybe the guy added more drums who know's? Renting a truck is a easy thing to do.You know cash always talk.I would go with a friend have the cash in your car and go look..You could always offer 5,000 to 7,000 for it all..A side note about 5 years ago i did the same kind of deal but i have been at the place before the two brother's passed away one of their son's was selling all the drum's. part's,cymbal's,catalog's ete, ete.His father had my number he called me.The drums ete were all from the 30's-70's Ludwig,Camco,Leedy.Roger's,Slingerland.S.L.radio kings,Ludwig and Ludwig..some new old stock set's 20 total, and another 60 used set's.200+ snare's 25 of them were L&L B.B's,300+ cymbal's.and boxes on boxes of hardwear.drum catalogs and letter's,price list, drum finish samples..over 300 single drum's..All this was the U.S. made drum thing's and not counting the M.I.J. drum's ete..The son wanted 50K for all i got it for 35K for all.I had to rent 12 simi's to move it all....Mikey

I have been there! He works for the city, driving a truck. Picks up all kinds of discards, down by the road/ on trash days. Mostly pretty bad equipment.

This guy lives in the same town as me. He has alot of MIJ and a few real nice things. He was always difficult for me to try to deal with. High prices and real arrogant. I stopped trying to deal with him. He does really have an entire basement full, stacked to the ceiling. Maybe he's changed his tune and will work with you.
