Just confirming the sizes and number of lugs for my recreation kit.

It will have Club Date Style lugs.

See if this sounds correct for a non-custom THC kit of the 40's.

Snare: 7x14, 8 lugs.

Mounted Tom #1: 7x11, 5 lugs

Mounted Tom #2: 9x13, 6 lugs

Floor Tom: 14x16 deep, 8 lugs

One other question. Which drums get the backing plates mounted under lugs on exterior side?

Thanks guys.

"Club date style"? Are you using Imperial lugs? In the 40's, the backing plates were used under all of the lugs. Those sizes are correct for the era.

Thanks man.

Yes, original 1940's flat Imperials with backing plates.

Club Date style just means one center lug in shell.

See pic.

Thank you pic supplier, hope you don't mind.

Not one row at top and another row at bottom.

Do I have the correct number of lugs per drum in my list?

Thanks

Thank You.

Is the mounted tom a 7x11?

And the FT 14x16?

Beautiful Set.

Thanks for the pics.

Green Glass,

That picture of the 4 piece top hat set is my original set. This set was bought new as 9x13, 12x14, 14x26 with a 6 1/2 x 14 snare after the war (1946). It is / was a custom ordered Set. The floor tom is not the usual size ( 14x16 was the size with the Top Hat set) and it has the "club date"/snare lugs because of that fact and to make it even more unusual that floor tom has only 7 lugs!

The 14x16 Top Hat floor toms that I have seen have 2 rows of 8 imperial lugs. My 14" floor tom is an anomaly. I did manage to add a pre war (1941) 14x16 floor Tom to that set to complement the smaller FT.

Thanks Mike.

So your FT is an anomaly.

BTW, do you still own that kit in pic?

So a standard, non custom 16 FT would have been 14x16 with 2 rows of 8 flat Imperial lugs.

Would those Imperial Lugs been double sided?

That is, one lug insert on center side of drum not used.

OR, did they make a single sided lug?

Thank You for all your help with these seemingly tedious details.

Hope you don't mind me sharing your pic.
