Actually those were made by WFL, not Leedy. That was the WWII era Victorious series of drums you are thinking of and they are quite rare and valuable nowadays....
Answering all and the above.
I'll see if I can find the wooden drum. I think it came out of a pipe organ, which means it wasn't from a set. Had a broken head and it's a strange size, he couldn't find a plastic head that fit, so the guy replaced it and I got the old drum. I never got around to trying to trying to tuck a new skin on the old hoop. I'll add it to the hunt.
As for the THC Ludwig toms, I guess that's enough people, so I'll "go fetch". :) And snap some photos. One friend said, clean them up, and I said, oh no, I want them original. Trust me, they are untouched and in need of TLC.
Reminds me of the set of Wobble Drums that I saw in a tiny town in South-Eastern Iowa in 1967. No way I could have fit them into the car, no way to get them back to Wisconsin, and at that time no way I could afford them either. But they sure were pretty in the window?
I'm really enjoying reading the forum. I've been playing for over 50 years, and reading about all the sets and history sure brings back some memories. I don't have room for the three sets I have now, more are out of the question. But like the kid in the candy store, I can look? Cool1 Cool1
