nope....that was an invention that helped the drumming community

Clearly "Talkies" is the best answer, but after the invention of the bass pedal some orchestras only required one drummer where they previously had two...am I wrong?

good point GGV we'll give you credit on that one (i should've done my research)

i've been watching this cool series on youtube, it's called the history of the drum by Daniel Glass. i didn't realize all the things the drummer(s) in a band did especially when it came to doing sound effects for silent films. if you get a chance check it out its pretty cool.

Good series. I have really enjoyed that one as well. The series he does with Zoro is a good one too.
