Kev nice score on those. Matt @ CTPP is your best option for heads. Send him your hoops and he can tuck new heads on them. I've seen Matt's work up close and personal at the CT shows and it's first class! Super nice guy too. A win win. ;)

My Trixon Speedfire bass drum has the original calfskin on the reso side and a plastic head on the beater side. I have never gigged with them but will be taking them out on Halloween this year. Moving the bass pedal side to side along the hoop produces different tones, some higher than others. This was the original concept, but I won't be using two pedals.

The bass drum sound is a 'not-too-horrible-thud'. In a live band setting, I'm sure they will be fine. Heck, if the party goes as planned, the heavy drinkers won't notice the sound or the shape! I'll post a video later this year.
