Hi, I'm looking for some help in identifying the year a Rogers kit was made. The stamp/sticker gives the number "66796" and they are a Rogers Power Tone kit. Does anyone know of any online resources to date these? I'm trying to figure out if they're a 70s kit or if they're a more recent one. I've heard negative things about recent Rogers kits and this is one I'm considering taking a look at to buy. Thanks for the help.

Pics.
My bet is 70-71. And on that POWERTONE sticker it has fullerton down in the lower right corner.

Thanks for your help - I really appreciate it. Here are a few pics to give an idea of the year. The wraps clearly aren't original - does this lower the value significantly?
sorry to be the bearer of bad news but not only is the rewrapp a minus so are extra holes, off brand mounts etc are you wanting to sell them? or restore them? what are the sizes hope this helps...
Hi Mike - thanks for the feedback. It's actually a kit I was considering to buy. Definitely not seeming like a smart option given what you're saying about re-wrap, etc. I thought the price was low so couldn't tell if it was a steal or if, like you're saying, the drums just don't have much value.

Not sure, but I think he was asking why you were buying them. To try and resell to make a profit or to set up and beat the tar out of them. If the latter represents your intentions, they have tremendous value! The mounts, the new wrap and even the couple holes or whatever won't make them sound bad!!
Tottaly true I thought you owned them and were looking for value but!!!!! if you want a good kit to play and are not concerned about the wrap and stuff and can get them cheap go for it they will sound great and are very good drums the bass looks like it could be a 24 inch bass drum and they are kinda rare for Rogers lets us know how much they are asking...
It's actually a 22" bass drum - you guys make good points on the value of playing vs re-selling them. Seller is asking $750 Canadian (approx $758 US) for the 5 piece - 22" kick, 12" and 13" rack toms, and a 16" floor tom, 18" floor tom. Another snag is the kit is missing a bass drum spur so I'd have to dig that up on eBay. All in all it's not feeling like the right purchase...I want something that plays/sounds well, but also something that I love the look of.
I've been eye-ing an early 70s Slingerland kit (24/13/16/18 - The 16 was purchased separately and is of a slightly newer vintage and slightly newer finish) that I may take a look at. My only hesitiation is the 16 not being part of the original kit, but maybe i'm just picky.
You guys are great! Really appreciate the insight here.
Shoot. I kinda dig that kit. I'm a sucker for the wood look on drums. AND I've been searching out a nice large Rogers rock kit. If it wasn't in Canada and if it were a few bucks cheaper, I'd jump. It's a neato rocker for sure.
I'd jump on 'em. Lotta Rogers at a cheap (Cdn) price.
Looks like a kit somebody played and loved, never a bad starting point.
