I have a friend who is looking for any information about the two old snare drums in these pics. I know one is a Ludwig but the other is a total mystery. If anyone is looking to buy please let me know what you think these would be worth and I will pass along to my friend also. Thank you for your help in advance.

John!

Welcome to the VDF! ... and, we politely request that you do NOT use picture links here if at all possible. We prefer that you put them up here as attachments. There are many reasons for this, but the main one truthfully, is ... links always GO DEAD over time. People looking at this thread for info will click your pic link and there will be nothing there! We are able to store the attachments so the pics can always be accessed! Attachments please!, if at all possible. BEST!!!

Hi,

I'm interested in the Ludwid Super... your friend can contact me at: [email protected] or 650-595-2022 and yes, do not attempt any restoration if the drum is going to be sold...let the collector take care of that.

Thanks for your time.

Mike-

What everyone else said about the Ludwig. The 1st drum.. may be a Geo. B Stone or a Duplex. Not particularly collectible as it wasn't a popular drum (The later "Master Model" is the collectible Stone drum) and really can't be used today. It is missing part of the strainer too. I'm looking for a drum like that to put in my collection (on the shelf) if your friend is looking to move it. Otherwise, he has nice piece!
