Mono...That aged look is what serious vintage players love.You cant buy the aging process.Definately clean them up,but removing father time in my books is a no-no..They,re wonderful drums,i hope you complete the kit.

Wayne, you have a good point! Thank you. I'm thinking that it may be difficult to find a bass and floor tom with the same patina, so they look evenly matched? If I don't find a bass and floor tom, then I might sell them and you're correct in leaving them as is. I will try the tips suggested to clean them up a bit and polish them. I can hardly wait to put them back together and try them out. I haven't laid a stick on them yet.

Only in the first few hundred dynasonics were paper tags used. All the rest of them, beginning badge number 1001....... use the oval Custom Built. 1975, saw the introduction of the Big R foil badge.
