Well, it says that I haven't posted in several weeks, so I'll make this humble contribution. Recently scored an awesome gig in an originals-only Americana/roots/blues/country/catch-all band. I knew immediately that a contemporary set would not work so I put this rig together...

14X28 Leedy concert bass drum circa 1930's

6.5X15 Leedy NOB 6-lug snare drum (engraved USQMC) circa 1930's

12X15 Ludwig parade snare drum converted to floor tom circa 1930's

12 Stanton Moore pandeiro (mounted above the bass drum)

1950's vintage Avedis Zildjian cymbals complete the set up. The dudes in the band absolutely love the vintage gear and it fits in with the look and the sound of the music. Win/Win!!!

Great set-up! I use a 13" calf-head Pandiero too! Ala Stanton Moore, but I keep mine on my left, next to the hi-hat like Stanton does. Sounds great with any 'second-line' grooves, or latin beats.

Nee-awlins, hee-ah I come! Boom, boom, boom, ba-boom-boom-boom!
