Hi Folks,

I'm stumped on this one. It's possibly German in origin and the size is slightly under 14".

photos attached.

Thx

The pictures are coming up very small, so the detail is limited. It is an odd location for the throwoff for sure but the throwoff itself is the same as one that I have in my parts stock , which makes it a Sonor, from the 30's or 40's. However, given the location, it might seem that it is an added feature. What do the tension rod heads look like? Are they square?, and if so measure them in mm. A look at the shell would help me determine. It does look German but Italy,France,Holland,Switzerland to name only a few countries also made drums , the names of which are obscure to Americans.

Many thanks for the replys!

I'll try yo resize the pics. I'm leaning toward Sonor but the throw looks a little different. It's not my snare but one I really want to buy. It's going for about $400.00 but the guy that's selling is a top notch fella and only sells the best of gear. He says there are German markings (not sure where though). It's slightly under size like 13.5 or so. i don't know a lot about foreign stuff but the quality certainly looks good.

many thanks
