Unusual Radio King Tom Tom Last viewed: 1 hour ago

I recently acquired a drum that may be of interest to Slingerland fans. This 6.5x14 tom tom is a rarity among Slingerland Radio King drums. These were only offered for a short time in the 1930's. This Black Diamond Pearl drum has a "Mather's Drum Shop" logo, too. Bill Mather was Gene Krupa's go-to guy for custom work in NYC and I believe also served as a "drum tech" for Gene at times. Notice the handwritten notations indicating pricing on the inside of the head.

Very high cool factor. !! I think this another one of my reason of loving Slingerlands so much they have more custom and non cataloged drums and short run drums than any other company.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Yes, they certainly seemed to have produced a lot of no catalogued items. Adds to the mystique.
