Nobody's mentioned it, but one thing that might account for the price break is that tom mount.

Not a Rogers expert, but I've never seen a Rogers tom with a flat black mount!

This by itself would not bother me a bit, as I like "players" and don't mind slight alterations (not that I would do anything to an unaltered vintage drum beyond bearing edge restoration).

Sounds as if you really like the kit. Unless it's an obvious fake, I say go for it, unless what you're looking for is an unaltered vintage set.

Rogers mount changed on the bass. Not big deal to put an original double tom mount back since they have the same hole pattern. Look inside the bass drum for a corresponding hole for a double tom mount shaft.

Upper tom mount changed as well. Means extra holes likely, but this mount might fits original holes for easy change back.

Floor tom legs not original. Mounts are Rogers, but from 70's era cast mount, not 60's welded mounts. Again, each change if it matters since hole pattern is same also.

Definite players setup. Original wrap and no extra holes can be put back to original condition, but a slight cost if that matters to you.
