Valuation question Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Hi everyone

I have owned my 1968 burgundy sparkle maple Ludwigs since

they were brand spanking new. I have a 6.5 x 14 supersensitive,

8x12 and 9x13 rides, two 22x14 bass drums, one 16 and one

18 floor toms. The 18, a late addition to the set, is olive-badged.

They are in genuinely good condition. I know the burgundy finish

was limited in the length of time it was produced. I would really

appreciate any help with what these might possibly be worth. I

am having trouble coming up with other burgundy sets with this

many pieces for comparison. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, they made burgundy for at least a decade so they're not the rarest bird in the flock.

And they're not the easiest to match up because the wrap fades over the years, but that's not an issue here unless you split the kit up.

And of course, sets with rails often bring a bit more than outfits with center posts.

2,500-3,000 would be my guesstimate.

My advice is probably worth what you paid for it!

While the kit resembles a Rock Duo, why does each bass drum have a double-tom mount? Where these added on? Was each bass drum purchased separately with the mount? I'd be curious to know the origins of the kit.
