1967 Ludwig Blue Oyster (Spalding cases included)

22, 13 & 16, looks pretty good condition to me, I know nothing more about this kit, never seen it in the flesh.

Any important questions I need to ask?

Rough valuation required please, many thanks.

Andrew

In BOP, this could be a big ticket kit. Check ebay, completed listings for Ludwig Blue Oyser Pearl Super Classic. That is going to be your best indicator of an average price. One we know of just went well below market average. Good Luck.

Dog, sorry!

I have never had a vintage kit, so pretty naive, but just love the sound of this.... Were BOP used much for Motown? Love the Funk Bros sounds, hoping to get close with this one!

Oyster Blue Pearl, or oyster black pearl, the two colors have a big price difference in price, Pete Best played the oyster blue pearl, and Ringo Starr played oyster black pearl, the black pearl are the more valuable one's. this kit will serve you in any capacity you may have, rock. pop, funk, blues fusion whatever you play it will easily fill the need!

hmm...two weeks ago there were several. They are deleting completed sales fast now. Anyway, search the site, there was one here that sold rather quickly at the BIN of like 1500, or so. Sometimes you see them go for outrageous money. Is the snare intact with the kit? If it is, what are they asking for this kit? The one that sold recently was a 62 or so.

The snare isn't matching, it's a black beauty, which I know nothing about, waiting to get pics and details on it.

I am in the UK and have been quoted £1,000 with the snare, £900 without, so thinking of buying both obviously, on the premise the snare is in good working order.

Does this look a nice kit from the photos though, compared to what else is out there.

From a day of looking, it looks above average to me (condition-wise i mean).

Cheers.

absolutely get that snare drum, that is a brass collectible snare drum and it has a black finish! well worth the asking price is it a 5x14" or 6 1/2x14"? here's a link to 70's black beauty! http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/ludwig_snaredrums/black_beauty2.jpg

These drums fade a lot--ask the guy if they all look the same. I've got an identical kit---they're beautiful to look at. And, get the snare, for sure, even if you don't but the set....marko
