Hi,

Any idea of the value of a 1955 WFL snare? Seen it on CL.

It has an newer throw installed.

Thanks.

I'm curious also. I have a chance to pick up an almost identical WFL (but with 8 lugs and P83 strainer). The elementary school music teacher told me he'd take two, newer model snares (any make) in trade.

I've picked up a few of these for $100-$150. When I was done tinkering with them, I sold them for about the same. The mahogany finish on each of them had varying degrees of scratching...

Always check ebay "completed listings" for a good, current market price. These snares go for as low as $75, though usually a little more, (forget about the inflated "Buy it Now" asking prices). The size can make a difference when asking for an appraisal, so it's a good idea to include dimensions.
