Value of a Ludwig Black Panther set? Last viewed: 58 minutes ago

Loading...

Hi,

Found this Ludwig Black Panther set on an auction for about $1.600.

I would love to get a BP set, but have no clue about the value.

The set is 13", 14", 18" and 24".

Might this be worth the $1.600 asked?

Might be worth it to someone...not me, though. BP didn't usually hold up too well under use. The material would often tear and scuff easily, so you really want to check the condition on that one.

The 24" kick is nice. Big Ludwig 3-ply drums always sound good.

First off I love black panther, but it's not as a desirable finish as other colors are, but the price is to high just for the ludwig kit and with everything in the picture also, the snare drum is a cheap low line drum MIJ, MIA, the high hat stand is premier. I can't tell you about the hats from the pic. can you barter on the price any?

The hi-hat stand is a Premier Lokfast series and is desirable amongst Premier collectors.......I agree with the snare...yuck! LOL!

If there are no scuffs in the finish and the shells are in-round, with no bearing edge issues.....and the hardware on the drums are in good condition....probably about $950-$1100 These are rarer sizes than what you usually find Black Panther finish Ludwigs in.....

I know the snare isn't any good. But it doesn't matter, it's the Ludwig kit I'm after, since I already have a Ludwig Carioca set I can use snare and hihat from.

Anyways, seems like I should e-mail the guy and see if he's willing to do something about the price.

Cheers!

Good luck this would be a good addition to your collection, you do want the Premier Hihat stand Lokfast series, they are as ludwig-dude mentioned collectible to premier guy's and they are great stands really.
