Value of a Ludwig brass shell w b&w badge w bowtie lugs? Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Loading...

Does anyone know an approximate value of a Ludwig brass shell that has a b&w badge and bowtie lugs? It looks to be a 6.5 x 14.

The shell is not hammered - smooth. No rods or rims.

Any info would be great!

Thanks!

There's a bunch of stripped brass shells online right now with Buy It Now prices ranging from $50 to $100. Stripped C.O.B. shells usually sell in that price range also unless they're something rare or really interesting. I picked up a similar, almost mint 6.5 Rocker snare in C.O.S for $75.

Maybe some Luddy experts could chime in here.

its a modern rocker shell, not a top of the line shell.

looks more like bronze but the pic isn't great either.

The seller says it's brass. I guess need to read the sticky thread about the brass shells to figure out which it is.

I haven't seen it yet in person and would like to know how to check it when I do.

Brass or bronze - is it worth the $100 asking price???

It has the hoops, throw-off and I think the tension rods. I think it's missing the strainer butt.

overall it sounds like a deal. i think retail is around $250.-ish.

providing he has the parts, and its alot cheaper than a top of the line brass or bronze snare.

it should be a 10 lug and it doesn't come with a p-85 or p-33. the butt and throw are after market parts you can probibly find.
