I recently came accross this very old Ludwig bass pedal that I know nothing about. It says Ludwig Pedal, Ludwig & Ludwig Chicago, IL, Pat 5-25-09, 7-15-24. I couldn't find any information about it on the VDG, but it is pictured with the kit in the first catalog on there from 1918. Supprisingly this thing has a really awesome feel with nice tension, it is a bit wobbly though. Anyone have any info or input on this pedal?

That's a refinement of the original Ludwig & Ludwig bass pedal that started in 1909. That one dates from the mid-late 1920's

Cool thanks for the date LD! It seems like a cool piece of history, but it'll just sit on my floor forever, if anyone has a 20s Ludwig kit and wants to add an era pedal I'll gladly trade for anything with the Slingerland name on it.
