Vintage denotes what? (in your opinion) Last viewed: 5 minutes ago

If I've got it, and you want it, it is vintage and very expensive, very valuable. If you've got it, and I want it, it is used, beat up, not worth a damn, and you should thank me for offering you the price of a decent dinner for it.

To me Vintage drums would indicate anything older than 30 years. An example would be early 80s DWs are now considered Vintage.Antique on the other hand denotes an age of 50 years or older. Not to be confused with automobiles, furniture, art, wine etc. which all have their own distinctions.

So it's a moving target, in other words in 2034, 2004 and older will be vintage and 1984 and older will be antique. Correct?

Hmm, you could be right, but I'm not sure I want to live in a world where a 2014 PDP set is considered "vintage".

Yet you live in a world where a 1969 MIJ stencil kit is considered vintage.

Vintage will always be in the eyes of the beholder and yes it is a moving target so shoot straight when considering what vintage really is... no matter how new it may seem to others. It`s all in perspective as time passes us by.Vintage is in perpetual motion and will become antique in it`s own perspective time.
