Thank you for taking a look at these. Any thoughts on the Gretsch model, year or value? I'm thinking they are anniversary sparkle issued in approx 1957. Zildjian cymbols approx from the same time period. Thank you for your help and input.

Yeah,

It's anniversary sparkle. Could be from 1958-early 60's since the wrap was available for a couple years.

Really cool kit. Worth a nice price.

Does the snare have the anniversary emblem on it?

Correction..

snare is 4 by 14!

Finding the 14 by 14 will be a lifelong endeavor though.......

Very nice! Rare wrap and the matching 4 x 14 snare in the wrap is even more of a plus. Regular 4 x 14 Progressive Jazz snares bring good $$$$, so an Aniv. Sparkle wrapped snare is very good.

It is possible that a floor tom was not part of this kit. They did offer a kit called the "One Nighter Plus" without floor tom, but the snare was 5.5 x 14. A 20/12/14 with 4 x 14 snare was called the Progressive Jazz in 1961. Later on this model of kit came with a 5.5 x 14 snare. Anything is possible, if this kit was custom ordered.

Are you looking to sell the kit?

It will be a miracle to find a matching floor tom, let alone a single one that's for sale.

Any history that goes along with the drums?

Thank you for your feedback/interest in the set Thonbeck. As far as the history of the set, my father acquired it in the mid 80's for me when I started playing from a neighbor who played semi-professionally in the early 60's. I have had it ever since. I would entertain offers on the set both with and without the Zildjian ride and top hats included. (I'm in Philadelphia, PA). I have attached a few more photos. Are there any orange/white paper labels on the insides of the shells? If so, what are the numbers? This will help date the kit.

I would love this kit, but I have too many as it is. ;)

You can put an ad in the For Sale section to accept offers.
