It's definitely a kick drum -- there are holes in the shell similar to the ones I've seen for Ludwig curved spurs.

So, ... dang. Freekin' wrong info??? I get so bugged by this kind of stuff. I know I shouldn't. It's just that ... how hard is it to look at the freekin' thing and say either 'yes' or 'no' ... I'm sorry. This bugs the snot out of me. I'm out of this one. I'm going to watch a movie.
I hate it when I don't read "IN" to what the poster meant to say. I took all this as there was never any spurs or mounts or extra drill holes ... blah blah blah. I should read a bit better next time. stupid literacy.
well tahnsk for the info yes there are holes for the spurs and theres a bigger hole for mounting hardware. I took some more picks. So is this a concert drum or not

Nope...would be a kick. No way of tellin g when though. Is the wrap incorporated into the shell? It will clearly be wrapped into the scarf joint. That will give a better timeline.

...and not that it's really relevant since we've established this particular drum is definitely a kick drum, but 18" or 20" would be really undersized for a concert bass. They generally start at 26" or 28". 32" and 36" are common sizes.
It looks like the wrap just sits on the shell. Also the drum is 14x22
Ten lugs = 14 x 22
3-ply shell = last ones made in 1976
Holes drilled for curved spurs = 1970's
Looks like that oval imprint is from a Rogers Swiv-O-Matic mount of some kind. They ended the Swivo stuff sometime in 1974, I think
If the wrap is original and isn't tucked into the scarf, then it's later than 1967-68-ish
No other holes?

By golly O-Lugs that's a wonderful assessment. I like the "scarf" term.
I found that during some of the 70's guys were installing other company's hardware on Ludwig BD shells. I acquired a Blue Bowling ball set and bass(20") & mount tom(13") have installed Slingerland Set-o-matic tom holder with no extra holes. After pondering over the situation I decided NOT to drill for a Ludwig mounting plate...the conclusion is I recommend that Scottsguitar might look for Rogers swiv-o-matic mount as part of the project.

Thanks for all the info guys. I will check that Rogers mount. Where can I get some more lugs. Can I get replicas that are the same. I need at least 10 or so. Or should I buy original ones off of eBay
Here is a link to eBay with lots of lug listings. There are plenty of them out there for about $3.50 each. Buy a set of 12 at least so you have some spare parts.
