Lets start with the Interior first, that is factory nothing has been added or removed here, the badges on your drums the black gold badges date from the 60's the silver black badges date from the 70's, also they do look like they where re wrapped, but there was a color similar to this one by slingerland called teak wood lacquer. if you could take pics of the badges and the grommets, I could be more specific.

The Toms have the black gold badge's the bass had the badge removed to install the Ludwig Diamond Mount. The snare has the silver black badge serial 240644.

My guess would be a Gene Krupa Deluxe Ensemble with a 14" tom added later. And the badge off the Bass was put on the 14". Maybe the badge from the 14" was put on the Clamshell Snare the 14" and the badge on the snare are the only things that don't quite fit.

Ok, they have most certainly been fooled with the Chicago badge is from 1956-99, either way as long as you don't have 1k in them you've got a super nice set of drum to do whatever you like with ,inside the shells are there any Black stamped letters, P or M ?

No So far I have under 200 into them. I took the bottom hoop off the 13" to look at what I could see The outside venier or what ever it is was done pretty well it come up right to the rering and actually looks like it belongs; one place their is a tiny little speck missing and it looks like their is a light color ply underneath also their is a little seperation starting at the edge where the layer meets on the outside of the shell and it looks like a light colored wood under neath it not sure though would need a good flash light and a magnifing glass to be sure without being destructive. The only other holes I see on the bass drum are one hole up near the center just behind the ludwig mount and two more ****her down as you can see in the first set of pictures like a cymbal holder. But I would of thought this would of originally had a rail mount or could those three holes be the original rail mounts? or was it common to use stands instead of mounting the tom.

Also the 13" did not have a air hole. their are no extra holes on this tom other than for the ludwig tom mount where the diamond plate was.

well the price is big time right, the toms didn't have vent holes during the time of yours, it should of had a rail mount on it, the Interiors are 100% factory, ply separation is very common, I have a thread on it now on the Slingerland student model radio king I just restored. it just happens over time the hide glue turns to dust it dries out, and it's time to re glue your plywood drums or solid shelled ones also. I asked if it had any letters stamped Inside the shell does it?

I just did a real thorough look around all the drums the only thing that I could find was what looked like chalk marks in the bass drum but they were not readable. the 14" tom doesn't have the original muffler in it I can see the outlines from a vertical muffler bracket instead of a horizontal bracket that's in it now so I'm sure it's a future add-on that was retofitted to match the set. With further examination the outside ply is paper thin and stops at around the same place a wrap would in comparision to the bearing edge.

Anyway I skin it, I feel I got a steal on the kit. That snare sounds awesome.

Exactly. you couldn't touch the sound quality of this kit for $3000.00. you can stain them wrap them paint them whatever you want to do to them, but use them and play them and Notice that big ole grin on your face while doing so!!!:Santa:

Hey had some more time to go over my kit and it turns out it did have holes for a rail mount they were filled in with wood filler. I'm sure the bass drum did have something written in it with calk at some point someone must of cleaned the inside of the shell and smeared it around. I'm trying to debate restoring complete back (rewrap,change tom mounts, get cymbal mount) or leave it the way it is.
