I think you did well at $180. I would buy them at that price. Congrats!

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Just picked up my pearl set.. it's in super nice conditions, all it's missing is the heads on most of the toms, but the floor tom. Overall I'm pretty exited to get them tuned, and sounding awesome! I think for 180 it wasn't to bad of a deal. Thanks everyone for the input , all post some pics once I get the heads on, and cymbal arm from the bass drum :)

Three months ago, I picked up a red sparkle 1960s Pearl just exactly like this kit. I just bought em for the vintage Zildjian's that came with em. I put em on Craigslist for the same price I bought em for ($125). seem to can't git rid of em for some reason.
Hey - those don't look like the traditional, three ply luan, with re-rings for this era kit. Hard to tell from pics - any chance of getting a couple of close-ups of shell interiors? You a lefty? Unfortunately, all those new heads will cost a bit of $, (add to overall cost of kit) but it's always nice to start with some fresh, single ply, coated heads for a kit like this. How do bearing edges look?

I've been researching to see what model is my Pearl from the pearl catalog (http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/pearl_drumsets_1968.htm) but can't seem to find one on the catalog that looks like mine... The sizes on my drums are 12/13/16/22 which don't match up to any on the catalog . Also It only has a inner tone control on the floor tom , and snare but not on the tom . I'll try taking more pics of the inside of the toms and bass drum , also the bearing edges on the tom are the only ones that worry me, it has a crack about 1 long.. any word on how to fix that problem ?
Back from the dead to the year...
I'm looking at one of these kits local and is in great shape! Don't know anything about them like shell make up or anything of the such, but its cheap and kinda interesting all the same... $200 sounds about right for asking price...
Gonna go grab it tonight...
