Not really for this section, but a cool vintage percussion Instrument. I added a sound file so you can get an idea what this sounds like. I have about 18 other whistles and instruments that I sound filed for NSMD

Listening to your sound file was a blast, pretty cool! Does that instrument have a name, other than train sound maker?

I'm not exactly sure. I will probably add all of the sound affects and images and do research as I go. Besides these there are a lot more, including a dog bark, lions roar, crickets and a bunch of other specialty whistles. Here is another one I called the Woo Hoo!

Knowing you as I do... I can't get the image of you playing/recording these sound effect devices out of my head. It's making me chuckle!!!! But!...

They are ultra cool though. I really liked the first two as I have never seen those before!!

Cool, David! I have one of those old "two-tone" cylindrical woodblock thingies...maybe I'll try to round up a picture of it. I'm sure we have all seen one by now, though.
