Hey everyone

Yesterday I visited a good friend of my who is also a drummer. He said to me he is going to stop whit his hobby (drums) and also said he would gave me his kit that is on the attic.

Do you guys know what this drum set is worth, apart from the Ludwig snare?

My friend says it is an old Tama superstar.

I want to sell it, so I want to know what the set is worth? (apart from the snare which I will keep)

You want to sell those? What do you own that could be better than those? You may want to reconsider your decision. Superstars are excellent, high end drums. I think it would cost around $4000.00 to purchase the modern equivalent to that set. And if you don't like concert toms, save your money and have them professionally converted to double heads.

Not too many Superstar kits in Aquamarine! Aside from the color, I just don't see a big market for concert-tom kits. Converting to double-headed toms is an option, except for the fact that finding that many Superstar lugs would be very difficult. I think it's a great kit to hold on to, but if you do sell it, don't expect too much for it. In the States, I would think that $1000 is a long shot.

I agree with the scarcity issue. I'd probably use the lugs on the 15+16 to convert the 12+13 for now and use the high toms in an "Octoban"style configuration. I had to buy a 14 Imperialstar concert tom and disassemble my 15 to convert my 13 and 14. But man was it worth it...

Those are not UV protected, so don't leave them in the sun.

I had a huge double headed kit of those for years; great sounding and gorgeous, they were.

Then I discovered Gretsch.....

So your friend GIVES you the set and now you want to SELL it? I hope you share the profits with him since he gave you the kit for nothing. I know if I gave someone a kit and I found out they just turned around and sold it and gave me nothing for it, I'd be a little upset. :2Cents:

Had a Tama Aqua Marine kit years ago, best kit I ever had and always got high praise at gigs for it's finish. I think it would be cool to have a concert tom kit but that's the hoarder in me talking. I see these lugs on the dreaded Ebay a lot, so converting a few of those toms wouldn't be impossible :)

Found it!!
