Those are great looking Vistalites. Got a question, were yours cracked or scratched when you got them? I am looking for a Slingerland Phantom, found one here in N.C., but it is in very bad shape cosmetically , thought you may have ideas on how to make them good condition again. Also, love your walnut snare, I'll have to save my money though before I could buy, ( taxes ).

Thanks for the looks.....Bucky

These were not cracked nor did they have seam issues when I got them; I think they had been in cases for awhile so that is why I pulled them totally apart and did some very detailed cleaning and polishing on them-shells, lugs, new sponge behind every lug spring, chrome polished everything and I mean everything, buffed everything-been a labor of love if you will-two more drums to go and then will work on polishing and cleaning the cymbal stands with the pedestal feet and the hi hat stand and snare stand which are all period correct-1976

I washed everything chrome with Dawn, and then I used brasso on the chrome by hand and once I had removed the brasso by hand, I buffed them with a buffer.

The shells were not that scratched up but we were meticulous about it and used a piece of 5000 wet dry sandpaper by hand-this clouds the spot when used. To remove it, we followed the Nobus 3-2-1 on each shell and then buffed them with an orbital buffer.

Thanks for all the feedback-first time I have ever done it, taught me a lot of patience and the need to be very organized, but the end result is well worth the effort put in.

I will post when we are complete-waiting on gaskets for the 12in tom and then we just have the bass drum to do along with the cymbal stands-
