Walberg & Auge Fans Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hi gang,

In my quest for badges I see a new ebay listing for what looks like a beautiful all original 1967 W&A 4 piece kit.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Drums-Walberg-and-Auge-/270811574117?pt=Vintgae_Drums_Percussion&hash=item3f0da0af65

I can't afford to jump into this, but I'd like any fans in here who can afford it to know about these. They need a good home.D' Drummer

Oh, the temptation! But, so far, I have resisted. I am about to rehab an early 60's Slingy set, and already have three W&A sets that I love. One is a 1963 Gold Glass Glitter set that consists of a 14x22, 16 deep x 14, 9x13, and a Champagne Sparkle snare that is a close match to the faded Gold Glass Glitter. Another of my W&A sets is a 1965 set with a 14x20, 8x12, 16x16, and that same snare drum to compliment the Salmon Satin Flame drums with Rogers lugs. The third set is a 1972 set in a color that I had never seen before. I call the color Ice Blue Metallic because it resembles a vintage Fender guitar color of that name. These drums are 14x22, two 9x13, 16x16, and matching snare. I would post pictures of my W&A sets, but, regular readers of this forum have already seen them.

But, that Gold Glass Glitter really is tempting. That asking price is about right which means that my bottom feeder bargain hunting instincts would not allow me to pay that price. I would, however, consider trading another vintage set and/or vintage cymbals that I already own for that set.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Yah, the temptation! When I saw it I started to scheme immediately, but try as I might I couldn't get over the fact that at $1K the reserve was still on.

When the wife got home I even used the "in a perfect world" routine, but it was plain to see her priorities are not on a third W&A kit.

Maybe if I sell the Tama Rock Stars, and one of the two Yamaha kits I could be armed with some cash the next time. (If there is a next time).:D

If the seller holds out for his price, there will likely be a second time....and a third time...and.....................................................

Great looking kit,Mostly Rogers shells with G lugs,I like it for sure.I doubt they will sell with such a high starting price. In this economy I am thinking 1000.00 is is approaching top dollar for those.I wonder what the average price is on W/A's.They are pretty rare, and from what I understand mostly were available in the north east, and I honestly had never heard of the drums until a few years ago from these forums.
