I hope you snagged them! We all know that kit is worth double the price if admission. Maybe you could talk him down to 300, or maybe 250.....then it would be one of those "stupid deals of the month (year, millineum, epoch)"....kid obviously knows naught of what he has.

Thanks for your insightful comments. I just bought this cool kit. It will compliment my vintage Gretch snare ( 6.5" x 14") very well. I did not attempt to talk this guy down a bit, as he thru in all kinds of extras, besides, I know what it is worth. He was just plain a nice guy also. I decided to downsize from my Pearl Export Kit, lighten up on all the volume of cymbals, make a clean, vintage style appearance. My old kit and cymbals are for sale.

[Attachment: 26517]That looks like very nice W&A set. I got interested the brand about two years ago when I acquired a 12--16--20 set of 1965 W&A drums in Salmon Satin Flame. Since then I have acquired two more W&A sets. I was dumbfounded to find a genuine W&A set made (or at least hand dated inside the shells) in 1972. This set consists of two 13's--16--22--and matching snare in a color I have never seen before. I call it Ice Blue Glass Glitter. My most recent acquisition is a 1963 Gold Glass Glitter set comprised of 13--16 deep x 14 diameter--22. I also have a 5x14 W&A snare drum that goes very nicely with the Salmon Satin Flame set or the faded Gold Glass Gliiter set.

I'll be happy to post pictures once I learn how to do that here

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Nice kit,I have never seen one in person, the cool thing is you never know what parts they are going to be made up from.I assume those were in Cali? Most of the sets I see on these forums are found in the northeast.
