For the most part, I don't have the numbers, Walmart pays low enough wages that some of their employees have to subsidize their pay with Federal food assistance. That money is in part funded by tax revenues.Walmart shareholders on the other hand generally don't require the use of Federal food assistance, but do sometimes take part in corporate welfare :DI personally don't have any problems taking part in shopping Walmart as I'm paying taxes and helping those who 'need' food stamps. Might as well take advantage of those low prices! :)
You can get by on what Wal-Mart pays, provided you live within your means, a lot of people don't. I worked with a single mom with two children who was receiving government assistance, which is fine, for awhile. The problem I had with her is that she had a very expensive cell phone, you know the kind. I can't afford a phone like that, so how does someone with two children who is receiving government assistance afford one. People abuse the system instead of making the sacrifices it takes to raise children.
