Wow! 12 lugger, gorgeous, deep-dish birds-eye maple, nice score!

Too many great drums to list here!

Hi Glen,

Beautiful drum! Love the birdseye maple. I think I remember seeing that one up for sale.

Those lugs/rods were also used by Nokes & Nicolai as early as the mid 1910s and the butt plate on your W&A began appearing on the Stone Master-Models in 1924 or 1925. (Clearly there was some parts sharing going on back in the day, but which way - Boston to Worcestor, or the other way around?!?) Not sure how conclusive any of that is for dating purposes but it probably means your drum is ca. 1915 - 1925. The truth may lie somewhere in the middle. Let us know if the W&A catalog sheds any light on things!

Funny, for 1915 this drum would have been way ahead of its time but by 1925 the same design would have been nearly archaic compared to what Ludwig and Leedy were turning out.

Nice drum - ya I think I did see that one too.

Time consuming tuning it hu... haha. I love those old drums. It looks a little older than 25 to me ......I'm no expert though....just like looking and reading about all these old drums. Got a few myself.

That is one lovely drum. Nice buy.....and you have a matching BD too = I like it!
