WOW! I 2nd that - the best post I have ever read on this (or any) forum! My Dad died of Liver cancer over 20 years ago - so this brings much happiness to me. ....and you found out about it on here from 'Kev'? This is like something for the 11o'clock news!

Not your time - perhaps you need to grow some more or help somebody (more) or perhaps both - hence the purpose seeking begins I suppose. You have a great start in your gratitude, as that itself serves a purpose.

I'll say it - Thank you God for more blessed days for John with us all!

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

> ...and you found out about it on here from 'Kev'? This is like something for the 11o'clock news!

Yes! Several months back Kev, (Kevins) had posted that the reason he had disappeared for a while was because he was on a 'new' treatment for Hep C that had proven to be successful for him. Fifteen years ago I tried the 'old' treatment which involved powerful antiviral drugs in combination with a chemo drug they give to cancer patients (Interferon.) I was sick for 10 months on that treatment and I was a 'non-responder' to the combination drug therapy. After that, I didn't hold out much hope for a cure in my lifetime. I had heard about the new drugs before Kevin's post, but he was the first person (that I knew) who had taken the new treatment and experienced success. Because of Kevin's post I started thinking about giving the new treatment a try. I spoke to my doctor about it, he referred me to a GI specialist and the rest is now history. I owe Kevin a deep debt of gratitude I could never hope to repay. This thread is a kind of tribute for him. I found out about the cure from him and I hope somebody hears about it from me. I'm grateful to Tommy and Dave for not wiping the thread! I just had to share the good news with -everybody- I know!

Thanks again all for the great comments. (And prayers!) I just hope this helps out somebody else just like Kevin's original (courageous) post has helped me.

From Purdie Shuffle

Today I was told that I have been cured of a deadly liver disease and I just need to shout it from the rooftops! The secondary purpose of this post is to spread the word among my fellow drummers who may also be suffering from liver related disease. It's a lot more common than you'd think, so it's important to mention. If you have been diagnosed with Hepititus A, B, or the dreaded Hep C, or if you have a degenerative liver disease, there are new treatment drugs that have very recently become available that you should investigate.Ask your doctor about: a combination of the drugs Sovaldi/Olysio therapy for your condition. They are -new- on the market and proving to have a 90% + (that's right, higher than 90%+) cure rate among liver patients. If this information helps even just one of you out there reading this, it will make this post worth its weight in solid gold. I lost one of my friends that I have known since childhood to liver cancer. It's not a good way to go.The good news for me is; Something else is going to kill me! But it won't be Hep C! The possibility of liver cancer is no longer a real threat to my life.Had to share, I'm through the roof happy today. Hope it helps somebody else. Very special thanks to Kev... if it wasn't for you going first, and then mentioning it here at VDF, I never would have tried the new treatment. Thank you.John

The thread has 'paid for itself!' I spoke privately with a forum buddy yesterday who has Hep C and he's going to look into the new treatment! It was a private conversation so I'm not going to 'out' him, but I have all fingers and toes crossed that he follows up by getting the ball rolling with his family doctor. If he does it and it works... I would have paid it forward like Kevin did for me.

I'm high as a kite and I haven't smoked any funny cigarettes... yet! The week-end is young! Have a great holiday week-end All!

Just read this thread John, and I'm very encouraged that it was posted and held. I’m grateful to God that he has spared you from that danger and led you to a cure via Kev. I’m also grateful to those who provided and administered it and the ones who tirelessly search for ways to safeguard the human body from its enemies.

Now take this new lease on life and use it to the full!
