Wasn't someone one here looking for a Big R in Tobacco Sunburst? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Anyway I just came across this one on my local C-list. Don't know the owner or have any stake in the sale but I just wanted to let whoever was looking for em know these were available. Not a bad price considering they look to be XP-8 and comes with a nice bunch of hardware and cymbals. Check it out http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/msg/5172441542.html

That is a good price for everything that's included. Those don't show up often.

One thing I've noticed about the TSB finish is that every kit has a different amount of "fade". Guess that shows the amount of hand work that went into each finish. For example, these have almost no black at the edges, esp on the 12 & 13, the 16 has more.

On the odd chance that someone reading this thread has one, I'm looking for an XP-8 16x16 in the TSB finish.

That's a great finish color. Wish I had cash and lived closer. Looks like a lot of fun with all those toms. Nice cymbals and hardware too. Some will be getting a really nice set.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

The best Fender guitar painters painted the Rogers sunburst drums. Ony the more experienced painters did the sunburst finishes on the guitars or the drums. Each of the painters applied the sunburst finish a little differently. I sold some of my customers (retail stores) some sets that arrived with poorly matched drums in the set painted by different painters. I insisted that they send the drums back for drums that were all painted to match.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I was looking for them. I called the seller and we had a great talk. He is going to try to sell them locally first and if that fails, will consider shipping. Real nice guy.

Always surprised at CL sellers that do take a bit of time to dust and do simple cleaning on items for sale. Funny, don't see too many cars for sale that are dirty.

Presentation doesn't matter?

Verminator - Good luck with the purchase.
