Can anyone let me know what time frame this badge was used in?
Thanks!
That would prob be from around 1939-1940. Believe it or not there are quite a few different WFL badges out there. I have several different ones on various WFL drums up the the transistion badge. Most of the funky ones with different wording is pre-war. Some of them are aluminum and some are brass. Some have Wm F Ludwigs name at the bottom and some have the address. I'm suprised how many I have come accross. I made this pic a number of years ago. I think the badges were places roughly from oldest to newest. It's been a while so I can't totally remember. Hopefully that helps!
Hi Mark!
I´m sorry, silly clue I gave you....
Should I know you had visited the site before asking..
According my knowledge, the "WmFL founder+address" badge is at some point between 1940 to 1945 (approx.) just prior the Aluminum badges (WWII era).
A full pic of the snare could help to this "mission"(sizes, strainer, etc)
If you have a full brass 7x14 USN (Why not a USS Indepence sea baby Cool1!!!) it could probably be dated on 1941, but I´m not a Guru, and regarding Ludwig dated, we need many light to put in here!
I wish it could help, let us know how history goes on!!Help2:2Cents:
I am going to say early 40's on that one. Prob 1940-1941. I can't see the whole drum but I'm sure that i just like the one I just sold not long ago.
Here's a pic of the drum. Yes, this is the drum that was on Ebay a while back. 6.5x15. This USN Drum is going to be given to my brother as a gift tonight. He just made Chief in the Navy (pinned & all) this week. I have an entire kit I am giving him but this is the snare. Is this the "Special Concert Snare"? ordered only for the military? Any input helpful so I can explain to him what he has. Thanks all!!

I was pushing on flea-bay on this baby!!
Good to know is in good hands though!
I guess it´s a 1941, but I dunno if it was a special order or something like that..
Honestly I don´t think so, but I´m not sure
Congrats and tell to your brother he´s a lucky guy!!
ps.: If I call you "BRO" , don´t you have any other snare to give away?? LOLExcitedExcitedExcitedExcited
