Wow! Love this finish. Not mine. If it were 20-12-14, you'd never hear about it. ;-)

they look pretty nice. well worth the money. ive got a 22/13/15 and a 20/12/15 clubdate kit. that one would be super nice with a 12, at least for me.

Oh man, unless there are major undisclosed issues, that's a great offer.
Late 50s Black Nitron 3 Ply Gretsch 13/16/20 w/ Max Roach Snare
Sweet set, at a great price! I know some of us have the snare for it, too......marko
I think I may go take a look at it. I really want 12 & 14 toms though. Might be a good candidate for re-selling. There's another Ludwig kit locally that I'm trying to peek at too, around the same price (20-12-16?) but it needs parts. Might take my first stab at re-selling with these two.

Kind of derailing my own thread, but... Haven't talked to the guy about the first ad. But here's another kit: http://nashville.craigslist.org/msg/4548804950.html
Blue sparkle club date 20 BD, 12 RT, with regular Ludwig 16 FT. Missing bottom rims, some t-rods, has metal BD rims, etc. etc. Guy giving me a hard time about wanting to see the drums, first of all. Next, he informed me he took them to the local drum shop (Forks Drum Closet - definitely a pro shop) and "he knows what they need." And he wanted to know if I was going to play them or re-sell. Now, he's texted me to say he'll meet me in a busy parking lot "but be forewarned, I'm not budging on price."
First of all, the ad says "OBO". Second, I see what looks to be about $200 worth of parts/heads that it will need to get going.
I'm thinking this kit could satisfy my 20/12/14 craving and I'm willing to give it a go. But if it doesn't after a few months, I'll want to sell it and make a few bucks at least. Thoughts? Sounds to me like a guy who's not really a player any more but got the local drum shop opinion and wants to take that to the bank. Am I wasting my time?

Unless you can get them for less than $500 (like $350 tops), I wouldn't do it. Plus, the seller sounds like an @ss, so that would definitely steer me away. I would hold out for a kit with the matching Club Date 14" FT. :2Cents:
So, he's a 20 year old student and afraid of getting robbed, based on the latest info. He offered up that his lowest is really $450. I told him just send me pics & specs & we'll go from there. Insides are not very clean.

Haha if he's 20, offer him 300 and nit pick it. He'll take it.
If he's 20, go easy on him......marko
