Does the badge gromet look like it's been replaced?
There are two badges like this....one brass and one aluminum (pg 175 The Ludwig Book - Rob Cook).
The badge here looks like it's brass but with an alumimum gromet.
No big deal I guess. It is a very nice drum. I'm just trying to learn to spot these things for my own education.
Gary your correct about the badges, also the aluminum grommet is factory and a brass one is also factory during this time frame, "confused now?!?!"

Or did someone do a repair job and used 'period correct' hardware do you think?
And I'm not complaining....this is one sweet drum that I would not mind having myself.
Someone should ask for a pic of the grommet on the inside and all that. Just to make sure its the real deal. That's a lot of money and for that much it should be totally original.
