What are you using for your practice kit? Last viewed: 47 minutes ago

Here's a practice kit I have put together out of modern items, except for the '64 Supra.

Mine is a Sonor Martini w/ 8 and13 toms, and 12x14 kick. The 12" snare to the left came with the kit. All heads are Remo Silentstroke (hope their logos don't get any larger). Cymbals are Zildjian Gen-16 polished nickel cymbals I found at a great price.

This rig works great........and in an apartment! I've actually rehearsed with other players......with no complaints from neighbors.

I still live in Pittsburgh, but I now commute and work out of an office between NOLA and Baton Rouge, and spend way more time in the gulf. With that, and sadly so, my drums are all up north...... So, I was grabbing a stack of blueberry 'cakes at Cracker Barrell and saw this up out in their gift shop. They sound like a ten dollar set of drums, sort of cheaply made roto-tommish, but I can still hit something other than a practice pad while cranking out the hair metal on my laptop.

Edit- it came with a kick pedal, but it doesn't work very well, so I took it off and hit the kick with the "sticks" once in awhile.

I play my ludwig zebra kit for practice at home. For rehearsing with the band I change kits once in a while. Currently playing my fibes set.

Thank you!

Did someone say Martini? Here is a Sonor endorser friend of mine at a clinic back in Raleigh.

In a jazz setting this kit gives more expensive kits a run for their money!

Well.. I have my Rogers Towers set up at the bands practice location so I have a little electric kit I got cheap for here at the house. I can put on the headphones and practice any time I want.

I do think I will set up another acoustic kit to give me that option as well.

Not a Guru... just interested..

I have an early 90s 6 piece Pearl Export that stays set up in my music room. Not bad drums for lower-level line.

Arbiter Flats Pro series. I dampen down the snare a bit. No mics or triggers for rehearsal. You get a normal drum tone but at a low volume.
