That chip is too small to be a 50s/60s Slingerland. It's a rewrap.

Wrong thread maybe, or did I miss something?

Well, that was my initial thought, but where do the '50s/'60s Slingerlands come from? IIRC we were talking about '58 Club Dates.

I think a lot of folks post on the fly & say, in this case, SLINGERLAND when LUDWIG was meant - ? Chris

Probably, but my concern was that he meant that post for another thread. Like I said, I have BDPs and that pattern seems consistent to me, but I'm definitely no expert.

He was saying that the chip pattern on the bdp is too small to be from the 50's. I agree...I have never seen a bdp wrap from the 50s that looks like that. Id say it is a re-wrap. Looks like 90's wrap. Just my :2Cents:

Spot on Hobbs. Check the inner wrap/seam. That might tell you more. The chip is wrong to my eyes. It is a modern layout. Could be wrong. I've been wrong ... once or more ... slips the mind just when, though. ;)

I think Roger is right on. The close up of the floor tom looks exactly like the Precision BDP I used to rewrap a 16X16 to match a 60s Luddy kit. The color match was perfect but the diamond pattern was a bit smaller therefore a bit busier.
