The interiors have been painted blue and the rail mount removed and a center mount added. The wrap on the drums is in pretty good condition but it has faded to the gray blue pearl rather than the sky blue. The 12 is a 69 the 13 a 68, the 16 floor a 66, and the 22 kick is a 65. I am considering stripping the blue interior paint and re wrapping. it would be and all original parts and shells but with new wrap. Thoughts?

in my opinion. i would certainly not rewrap those drums. i would either strip the interiors or paint the interiors white. the later ones would have been clear maple interiors and the earlier one white resacote. the wrap on those is exceptional.

for rewrapping and such, i'd sell those and buy some project shells if rewrapping is the way that you want to go. many kits from that period were re-drilled for the center mount.

I have a set just like this. Do you plan on playing them or selling? If playing, I would put heads on them and start enjoying them. Yes you can strip the inside paint down the line but the drums will sound great as-is. If selling then I personally would not do anything to them. If I were the buyer I would realize what they are and decide myself whether to do anything to them or just start playing them. They are great sounding and so versatile. Just my two cents worth.

Plus: I would try to find a SBP 6-lug Pioneer snare to complete the kit. I realize that Supra's are more desirable, but I think the wood 5 1/2" Pioneers are the most underrated snares ever. Wide tuning range, record really well, great with brushes.

I would definitely not rewrap those drums. As for the interior, either paint white over the blue or leave them blue. Throw some coated heads on top and you'll forget all about the interior.

Leave the wrap. I agree it's a minor issue; repaint, strip, coated heads all vg solutions. Nice polish job.

These are my touring drums that I now have some time to mess with. Ok so I'll strip the insides and repaint them white and replace some parts. I may sell them when done. Not sure yet...

If I'm making that serial # out right, that kit is a 1969. Probably would have had clear interiors, not white.

Yeah as my first post stated, the drums are all different years. Unfortunately.
