as silver pearl lightly gingered welcome as i have mine if you had the 14x14 ft instead of 16x16 you would have the down beat as it stands great player set be on the look out for that bd it does come up now and again out all my kits this is the easy play kit i just love the sound out of that bd, actually the year is early 64 late 63 as the serial #'s profess but to be sure pop a head off and look for a stamp inside the drum for month and year
What do I have and is it ok to play? Last viewed: 3 hours ago
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp
once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
with a 6 digit serial number i dont believe its a 64. looks more like a 65 or 66 by the mounts. i would turn the bass drum spurs around for better support. those drums are great. i play the same kit only its a 13,16,20. they sound killer

mlayton it has the red felt if that helps identify them. I was looking at the vintage catalogs for '64 and noticed my floor tom legs don't match the sets that have the matching silver sparkle snare drums. They all had just straight ends not angled. So maybe '65 is more accurate. Thanks again for all the info. I'm really excited to start playing them.
What are the cymbals you have there ??
Is that an Anniversery Marshall on the chair over there,...it`s the same color ??
.....76/#XK9207 Phonic Sound Machine D454/D-505 snares !i
The cymbal is an Istanbul Zildjian K. The hi hats are Zilldjian also but cant remember the name. To be honest I don't even know if the hi hats are really hi hats, haha. Haven't gotten around to the cymbals yet on getting everything up and playable. The amp is just a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.
Very cool set.. By all means play them brother. Nice amp too.
I also double on guitar but drums and drumming is my first love.
13/22/16/16
Ludwig Acrolite snare from the 70's
Speed King Pedal
A.Zildjian K.Zildjian and Paiste cymbals
