WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR Worst drum gear purchase blunder Last viewed: 1 minute ago
Mark, i believe my 1961 blue note , no where to put it gary ....
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp
once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
LOL it sure seems like it is, trying to move around in the garage, (heated) boxes every where ,,,,

Mine was a brand new at the time Slingerland drum stool. The welds on the seat bracket broke making the seat shaft come right through the top of the seat and go..... Yea ouch!! If I was 140 lbs back then that was a lot. Just a bad design I guess?? The bottom of the wood seat had a hole in it which was just dumb if you ask me. If the seat bottom was solid would have been non issue......Soap Box
ugggggg.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Ghost and Tama King Beat Pedals.
Purchase of a set of Ludwig Rockers in the late 80's. Toms were too deep. Once mounted to bass drum, everything was uncomfortably high. Turned them back in about 6 months time and got my first vintage kit, which was Rogers WMP 13,20,16. Been on vintage ever since.
I can think of two purchases that were both my own fault, for not trying a product before I bought them.
Vintage `60s naugahyde drum bags. Fit so tight that it was a struggle to put the drums in them. Bags one size larger than the actual dimension of the drum were needed.
The other was a common one. Purchasing a vintage Zildjian cymbal without hearing it first. Worst sounding A Zildjian crash I ever had. Gave it to a kid that was just getting into drums.
Can relate to Jaghog's issue... early 70's I picked up a '68 Blue Note minus the canister & bongos.. at the time we were living in a rented 2 bedroom house with 2 sons aged under 5 years.. No garage or sheds, when not in use the kit was stacked in our bedroom... Wife tolerated it.. but only just..
Cheers
